redcurrant overload

One of my redcurrants is so laden with fruit that it is on the ground. Should I tie it up off the ground or thin the fruit?

That is amazing for the first half of May. I would thin as you then get better quality fruit and sweeter, probably cut out half the fruit clusters, also worth staking and tying up the bush.

Thanks Charles, it is just over 2 years planted and cropped well last year, but it has gone a bit mad this year. Has not had anything much done to it other than a good dose of cow manure each year.

Checked on them today and they are ripening already. so clearly just very early.
