    Hi there,
I am planning to plant vegetables on my roof top. I heard about the rooftop harvesting but I was wondering how to implement this. I planned to get a garden bed for the vegetable farming. After reading this http://inthebackyard.ca/8-important-materials-for-a-raised-garden-bed/ I think it is easy to make a garden bed. But I would like to know the watering system of the garden bed. I heard that floating water may crack the terrace. How can we safely place a garden bed on the terrace?

I am not expert on this but if your terrace roof has a slope, which it must, the water will not lie under the bed, which is good.
Whether the roof cracks depends on the roof material and the strength of it’s supporting timbers. You need to find some advice on how much weight they can support.
I would fill a bed with compost which is lighter than soil.
