Rosada tomato seeds

Charles mentioned recently that these are becoming more difficult to find as they have been discontinued, which is a shame as they are so delicious (and my older son’s favourite tomato).

I found out today that Quick Crop are offering Rosada seeds:

Thanks Steph. I have not grown this variety but they seem to be well liked by many gardeners. Without them being ‘reissued’ will that mean the disappearance of this variety in approx. 3 – 5 years, as seed passes its viability date?

If they taste better than a well grown Gardeners Delight, this will be a gustatory nosedive!

Our neighbour grew Rosada last year and I tasted a couple and they were without doubt one of the most tasty tomatoes I’ve ever eaten.

I’m having a go myself this year…..

Hi All,

T&M’s explanation seems to me to be a reasonable reason for not bringing them in to the EC,
I wonder why the seed producer felt unable to comply with certification.
I can understand why they would not want to go to the trouble of setting up a production unit within the EC but why can they not comply with certification.

Thanks Rhys. I am tempted, but keep thinking up new growing projects for the season ahead (this is since my final, final plan created over Christmas!) and realise I have to draw the line somewhere…..perhaps not yet though 🙂
