I have quite a problem with rust on my leeks,at my allotment (Lincolnshire) it usually appears mid October.
I was wondering if anyone on here has grown perennial leeks such as Babbington and have they got a better resistance than some of the more modern cultivars?

While I’m here has anyone got any experience of growing Asturian tree cabbage? I want to grow Taunton Deane kale but I am struggling to find any cutting suppliers at the moment..

Paul, rust on leeks and garlic is gaining ground and nobody I know is sure why.
I keep pulling off rusty leaves, to the compost heap.
The Asturian for me made a loose head of leaves pale in colour, I was not that impressed, don’t know how perennial it is

Thanks Charles yes rust does seem to be on the up,I had to harvest all of my softneck garlic far too early this summer.
I will hold off on the tree cabbage seeds and try to get some kale cuttings in the speing.
