    Hello Charles

I have just sown all my winter salads/leaves as recommended for my polytunnel. I was wondering if you also grow lettuces such as lollo biondi or claremont in the polytunnel during winter?
Would you recommend trying to plant some garlic in tunnel if a little space can be spared?
Also I just made a new bed for autumn sowing of garlic. It consists of a thick layer of mushroom compost where the soil has been covered for a while.. Would that be suitable for garlic?

PS how do you get your land cress to germinate?

    Many thanks

Your land cress may be old seed, its tricky.
Yes any compost works for garlic and you can plant some between winter salads, see my updates of previous winter(s).
I have tried many other varieties and Grenoble Red is so far away the healthiest and most resistant to frost & slugs that I grow it only.
