For several years I have had no luck with my self-sown kohlrabi. Whereas the garden center-bought plants of my allotment neighbors grew decent bulbs, mine never developed a bulb at all. They were started indoors at 24°C on a very bright windowsill and hardened off in my cold frame with some temperature fluctuation. I’ve once read that kohlrabi need very stable temperatures when young. Any ideas what I can change? I’d love to grow self-sown plants because here in Germany with the supermarket / garden center plants you never know the variety. I garden on quite dry sandy soil in Berlin. Any help would be much appreciated!
