Having found great clusters of snails in my compost heap when I turned it and seeing the photos that Charles has posted this week I was wondering if these much loathed creatures do actually seek each other out and hibernate in groups? If so it may be an ideal opportunity to reduce their numbers during the winter.
What are your experiences?
