Just an interesting observation that this September, one Red Duke of York Potato plant emerged spontaneously next to my autumn rocket (a remnant from growth in 2014) and is still doing well!
Of course, a frost will come along and kill the plant sooner or later, but I was wondering what combination of climatic factors caused this to happen in the first place? Heavy August/September rains allied to warmth tricking the tubers into thinking that this was late winter followed by early spring?
Clearly no-dig produces tubers resistant to slugs for > 12 months!!
