starting with a new plot

Hi Charles I was wondering if there is anything that will be different about your sowings this year because of your new plot?

Many of us starting out face a similar situation and it made me wonder if there is anything that you will grow more or less of because the beds are new and may not be quite as weed free as your old plot?

 Thanks for asking, actually the main difference will be less salad! since I am not selling it. Although I may have a surplus of other vegetables as my area ready for sowing and planting this spring and summer keeps increasing.

In fact I do not yet have a precise plan as some of the experiments need working out more, and others are not yet created. I want to grow some of everything, and the beds of new manure and compost are sufficiently well decomposed to grow as per normal. Also although there will be more weeds than in my old beds, I have a smaller area.

The whole plot is developing as I go and I have only just decided where to put the polytunnel, am hoping not to find any areas of concrete (from greenhouse foundations) when digging the trenches!

And for a change I have just spent three whole days proofreading the new colour version of my first book, coming out in a month or so.
