Thinning seedlings and planting out with fleece

I am about to plant out 4/5 week old seedlings of dill, flat-leaf parsley, spinach, mizuna and lettuce. All were sown in modules and germinated on a window ledge and have been in an unseated greenhouse for 2/3 weeks. I have 30g/m2 fleece to protect them. The questions I have are:
1. How should I thin each of these plantings (I’m following the spacings given in Charles’ “Organic Gardening” book?
2. I have made 4mm wire cloche hoops. Can I lay the fleece over these (it fits perfectly) to make a fleece tunnel over the seedlings or should I lay the fleece directly over the seedlings?

 Hi Tom,

For ease of picking I now plant mostly singles (i.e. thinned to one) of these at 9 inches. You could do two or three spinach and dill for more and smaller leaves.
Fleece does give more protection when laid flat but as it fits the hoops you have, and as long as your site is not too exposed to wind, you could use the hoops, good luck.
