Hi there
My onion, spinach and lettuce seeds have germinated in my unheated polytunnel and the growing medium in seed trays has become very dry. I am wondering if it is ok to water them now, as we have once again returned to very cold night time temperatures. Does this increase risk to the seedlings. I have re – covered the trays with fleece when the temperature dropped again this week.Guy do water, and those seedlings survive freezing, though grow better when not!
Water holds daytime warmth at night. Hence the low temperatures at night in deserts. So that’s another reason not to have them too dry.
