I am about tearing my hair out here, everything is so late. I have been sowing indoors and the greenhouse is really bursting at the seams. I put some things out which were ok – as in would survive the cold – and covered them with fleece and they are fine, just sitting there doing nothing, though I hope that they are rooting beneath the surface. Things in the greenhouse have been very mixed. The first time ever I had stuff damping off and the only thing that is good so far with this season is that there are very few slugs, presumably because of the frosts we had early on. Flower seeds have done pretty wel though???? Why? I have heated the house, used 4 heat pads, but results are disappointing.
Is everyone in the same situation? I am in North Wales 1,000ft up but I have never had weather like this. Soil temp in a covered raised bed this morning was 6 celsius and there was ground frost yesterday morning too.
