Growing sweet corn for the first time, I thought my plants were doing well – being about 3 – 4ft high and looking good. No signs of kernels, however.
I was therefore surprised to read in ‘The Garden”s monthly ‘Jobs to do in August’ column that harvesting sweetcorn was in order.
Is August the usual month to harvest sweetcorn or is September more normal??
Yes they are early there but it may be for a warm urban climate and for early varieties. Mostly one harvests in September, you are on course!

I have just started to harvest my sweetcorn I got help with knowing thay were ok as the badger got there first happy days. I am also in Somerset
