Hi I have crown prince and uchi kuri which I have not grown before the largest of the former are about 8 inches diameter the latter are deep orange and 6 inches diameter.
Should I be harvesting them at this stage?

AlastairWait until skins are hard and necks have shrivelled – they don’t store if harvested before that, and are less sweet.
Sometimes in October one has to harvest before this stage because of frost risk.
