Anyone else find yellow varieties very slow to produce. I have 2 or 3 small yellow courgettes with a couple of weeks now and they are not growing. Green varieties are flying.

This has often been my experience, I wonder if the yellow in their leaves reduces photosynthesis, though I see other gardeners happy with their yellow harvests.
I think if you want abundance, its hard to beat green courgettes.

The yellow variety Soleil has been giving us a consistent supply as is with the green varieties… however 2 of the scallop shaped varieties hasn’t been producing any yet 🙁 – White Bush Scallop and Patisson

I have cut off all the small courgettes and will give them 7 to 10 days and if they dont produce I will pull them out its just the yellow looks so good. Thankfully I have 3 of each so will have plenty of the greens at least.

Might try the Soleil next year so then.

    Thanks

I was given a yellow climbing courgette which is in the corner of my tunnel. It took ages to get going and has stated producing at the same time as my green ones outside, which were planted significantly later. However it is now going mad and has leaves on it that are fully 18 inches across and is producing one courgette every 2 days.
