    Hello Charles and fellow gardeners

What is the yield you get from your strawberry and raspberry beds?
Are there any particular varieties you recommend?

    Hi Lottie,

I am not sure about yield as we grow load of raspberries and strawberries.

I highly recommend Fallgold raspberry, a dark yellow raspberry, it is very very sweet. Glen Ample or Glen Coe are nice red varieties too.

As for strawberries, my fav is Korona (early to mid) and Florence (late).

    Good luck 😉

Hope it works out for you… 🙂

I kinda stay away from early varieties for fear of late frost in Spring… and in Germany we have this particular day called the `Eisheilige tag …. in direct translation Ice Saints day… I believe it usually occurs in mid May… and the flowers from strawb plants gets these black ´burnt´ spot in the middle of the flowers.

I grow perpetual strawberries. They are not daylight dependent like most, so even if you get a late frost you will still have them cropping periodically until autumn and you don’t have a massive glut one week and then none for months.
Crop will depend on weather and age of plants but to give an indication I have 10 plants that are in their 3rd year and probably produce 2 desert bowl per month on average late June to late september
