I’d be interested in knowing this, too.

On one side, the path is walked on regularly, so the grass/weeds remain low with just a little maintenance.

On the other side are fruit trees which overhang the path slightly and it is less of a thoroughfare, so the ground gets trodden on less and requires more attention.

I’ve just split my doubles, spacing them out more. There’s a good chance I’ve just killed half the crop, as I’m sure I’ve torn some of the fine roots, but I thought I’d give it a go in case it works. My corn went in late, so at any rate, my chances of a decent harvest are fairly slim as it is.

Thanks Jan. I’ll get some netting over the weekend.

I’ve got some doubles too, and had wondered this.

Not on Facebook, but a frequent lurker in this forum – thought I should put my hand up and say ‘hello!’

    Hello all,

I’ve been loitering for a while, but this is my first post. Thanks for the wealth of information on these forums.

Apologies if this is a daft question, but…

Should you rinse any salty residues off seaweed before using it? I live near the coast, so can get hold of a fair bit of seaweed, but wonder if it would be too salty. Or is it negligible?

    Thanks,

    Jonathan
