i have no info on the rootstock. it says that the peach tree will grow to 8 – 15ft and the apple tree will grow to 5 – 25ft

just been quoted £168 for 5 tonnes delivered. seems pricey. they will deliver in 1/2 tonne bags aswell that comes in at £33

i lost my entire crop last yr. this season i covered them with enviromesh and they are untouched

i have plenty of room. currently i have a large palleted bin for horse manure a smaller one for garden waste. a large dalek type for kitchen waste and a smaller one for chicken waste. i also want to add a wire meshed bin for leaf mould in the autumn

grand, thanks for the advice much appreciated.

my next quandary is weather to make raised beds with scaffold planks or to just mound up soil. i have heard that the plank system harbors slugs.

then i have to consider paths. i was thinkin of laying weed plastic then putting wood chippings on top, but to do this i guess i will have to use planks for the beds.

i think i will go for the black plastic as the plot is too lardge to keep covering with cardboard.

next spring would you suggest that i dig the plot over or re mulch with manure etc
