Hi, this time last year we put down farm yard manure (I thought it was a year old but probably think it was quite fresh now!) We covered with plastic sheets, and successful grew loads of delicious squash that we are still working our way through! 2 months ago we pulled off sheets, weed free and paths look good too, but the manure doesn’t seem to have composted down much and is still very mucky. We have planted some potatoes and I was wanting to grow broad beans, runner beans, sweet peas, courgette and more squash – will this be ok? any advice? Many thanks Catrin.

    Yes Catrin it sounds fresh.
Being exposed to air and rain will speed breakdown now and I see no reason not to make those plantings. Watch out for slugs perhaps.
