Charles, I have access to a plentiful supply of sawdust.
Would you recommend adding it to the compost heap?
If so, in what proportion to plant waste?

Yes you can, I suggest max 20% of the total ingredients.
I am unsure whether dust of hardwood breaks down more slowly than of softwood, though it may not be a factor.
My preferred use would be as path mulch. When exposed to air, it breaks down quite quickly. Wood on top does not compete for nutrients with plants.

Thank you. I sourced some to use for paths but it occured to me that it may be useful in the compost heap.

Great cover on the new book by the way !
