Anyone here that have experiences with blueberries ?

I would like to plant about 30 blueberry bushes.
My land is somehow between sand and clay, ph 6.5.

I thought that digging a deep trench, about 5 feet deep x 5 feet wide,
and filling it with pine branches on the bottom and then with acid soil
to get the 4.5 ph expected ?

But someone told me that I better to put all this acid soil on top of the land,
not to dig a trench since the soil from underneath will sooner or later get
into and dilute the acid soil.

Anyone having experiences growing lots of blueberries ?
