A year ago we started trying to grow our own vegetables. We had no idea so we bought a book and have been learning as we go.

My husband built me 6 amazing raised garden beds and we now harvesting zucchini, cucumber, spinach, tomatos and strawberries and there are some other things coming along.

I have been very careful about being organic however a few weeks ago, we were watching a gardening program and heard them mention to make sure you had natural treated timber sleepers. I rang our supplier and found out ours are normal treated sleepers as we hadn’t even thought of that.

I am now very worried. How dangerous is this? Do we really need to pull apart all the beds and re-build (wasting it all), or can I line the sides with black plastic? Also, what about all the beautiful produce ready for picking now? Do I need to discard it and waste it?

Can someone please help me know what to do I am so devastated about this.

    Thank you
    Tammy
