    Charles, In the Dec 2012 update you were planting BB in a very basic Hugelbeet style bed on twigs and grass mowings on Nov 26, how did they turn out? A long time back I know!

    Well spotted and I made no comment after as they were disappointing to say the least, a combination of slugs and bad weather, too much brushwood perhaps. Growth in years 2 & 3 has been excellent, with a compost mulch on top each autumn.
