    I have the dreaded codling moth into my apple tree what is the best way to tackle this problem in the future successfully. The tree is only 3years old

    Did you put traps out? they use a pheremone and attract most of the moths so limit the damage to fruit. Need to be out in May/June/July I believe?

    I used the pheromone traps, put out twice in May and July, and had no damage from the codling maggots. But they are expensive and if it was only one or two small trees, the apples become pricey!

    Some garden centres sell the traps off cheap at this time of year.

    At this time of year many garden centres will have them reduced as a clearance item.
