    Hi Charles,

I’ve managed to get ahead and have a lovely stack of fresh horse manure which I’m hoping to use as mulch next autumn. should this be covered from the elements with polythene or maybe cardboard or is it ok left as is?

    Thanks,

    Darren

I cover mine, not from the elements but to stop weed seeds growing there, blowing from weedy nearby allotments! I use plastic.

I have tried covering and not covering, without noticing much difference in terms of decomposition or growth afterwards.

Great that you are so well organised!
