    I`m flattered by the interest Charles and only to happy share information,

    The grazing rye I use is annual rye, Secale cereale (latin) also known as Hungarian Grazing Rye. It can grow to 2 mtrs high.

    And no, I never see any nodules on the alfalfa.

    Many thanks to all of you gardeners out there who have helped with my query and as a result will have a go at growing the dwarf beans after the early spuds.

    I’ve also learnt loads about green manures – thanks again.
