I have so many leaves in my garden! Is it ok to add them to the compost heap? I have read about separate bins for making leaf mould but don’t really have the space for one.

    Thank you.

If you have wheelbarrow loads of leaves it is worth making a separate pile of leaf-mould (usable after a year or so), because too many leaves in a compost heap can slow down its decomposition.

In your garden you could put a layer of a few inches on your heap and spread the rest under any bushes or whatever. Or leave them… worms like leaves and they should disappear below ground during the winter.
