Hi, I’ve got some leeks that after the recent wet weather the outer leaves are starting to get slimy and some of the leaves are yellowing. I lifted one and they are fine underground after taking off the outer two rings of leaves. Should I harvest them now as worried about rot setting in

    Thanks for any help

Steve this is normal for leeks as they mature. It’s not to do with weather because leeks love damp conditions.
You probably have an early variety that is now passing it’s peak and growing little. so yes I would harvest soon, say by Christmas. The inner stem should still be fine, unless it gets really cold, which early varieties tolerate less than later varieties.
