Lettuce leaf edges turning mushy

Hi Charles,

Not sure what caused this to a couple of Grenoble Red Iettuce. I decided to harvest them instead of saving seed.

I discovered that some of the young hearting leaf edges turned to mush.

Karen its moisture stress from hot days when the plant can’t access enough water for the rapid growth it trying to achieve. Its an alpine lettuce variety and struggles in hot, dry weather.
However they recover when watered a bit more or it rains and its a bit cooler.

That´s a relief. It hasn’t rained here for weeks. We badly need rain here. Thankfully it will be slightly cooler this week.
