    hello,

i forgot to do july pruning of gooseberries and whitecurrants – should i do it now? or do it all in the winter? the whitecurrant and some of the gooseberries are not particularly happy – the whitecurrant has some strong growth but also quite a bit of brown fungal spot. some of the gooseberries have sawfly, though not too bad, they are also looking a bit mildewy / fungus-spotty. they are also very droopy, though they have some strong upward growth off the drooping stems.

Hello Ashley, it was good to meet you in Manchester.

Your fruit bushes sound a bit ailing, cannot say why from here but pruning of diseased parts may help. I would do it now as it is almost winter, no new growth now, and you can perhaps see more easily the diseased branches to remove.
