Hi Charles, I’ve been using the no dig method on my present allotment for the past 3 years with success but the Moles are now becoming a bit of a problem, probably a result of the improvement in the soil due to the manure and compost I’ve used. This July, I took on the allotment (jungle) next door and with the use of Manure, cardboard and black plastic I’m already planning and planting for over winter and next year BUT…the moles have appeared!! I’ve read over the years lots of old wives tales, myths etc how to get rid of them but my question is are moles a bigger problem with no dig gardening?

Yes moles do like all the worms!
I fond that if I leave their runs as undisturbed as possible, they do not keep making new ones and throwing up fresh hills. However there is a small amount of root disturbance. Personally I can live with it, otherwise you could perhaps enlist a mole-catcher.
