This is the first year I have grown Leeks by multisowing as I usually grow in a seed bed and transplant into holes and back fill with water. I multi sowed Giant Winter and Below Zero, and then planted out the clumps into a dibbed hole.
I have noticed the leeks are growing away from each other and have bent stalks. Why is this?
Any advice for next year? Also a few of then have started growing a flower stalk.

    Thanks

Yes Jacqui they bend when growing towards the light, needing to push away a little from each other. Not exhibition leeks but still lots to eat.
Bolting is usually from sowing too early in spring. My best sowing dates are 5th-15th April.
