Has Musselburgh been superseded by better late leek varieties or is it still a good one to go for?

Yes Musselburgh is still worth growing, for its hardiness and also it puts on a late spurt of growth in March and April, so is worth growing for spring harvest in the hunngry gap, before early May when it starts to flower. Bandit is the modern equivalent, a little higher yielding.
