    Hello all,

I’ve added a 4th bed to my garden, a smaller one at that, and my 2nd true no dig bed. The original two are standard raised beds that have been dug in the past, and the 3rd was my first true no dig bed.

A bit of background. I had to pull out a massive cedar hedge that had overgrown it’s welcome in from of my tool shed where this bed now lies. Aside from pulling out the decently sized root ball, the soil is untouched. I added 1 base layer of home made compost made mostly of garden waste and stray bought from a farmer last Halloween. The top, more crumbly and not fully decomposed layer is made from 100% home made waste. Grass clippings, food waste, old plants, leaves, cardboard and coffee. It’s only 9 months old, but with a winter of deep frost and snow, I’m confident it will be ready for spring 2019.
