I’m thinking of trying a couple of new varieties this year, beetroot Boldor – a golden beet and kale Black Magic – a new selection of Cavalo Nero which is meant to be hardier than the standard vaiety.
Has anyone had any experience of growing these?
Also any supplier for a reasonable number of seed.
    Thanks, Andy.

I grew Boldor last year and liked it: seed from Organic Gardening Catalogue, good germination, nice quality and roots stood well. Also I grew Black Magic and saw no improvement on Cavolo Nero, and plants are smaller!

For larger seed quantities try Moles Seeds http://www.molesseeds.co.uk/ whose range is good.

Thanks Charles, I’ll order some Boldor seed to try this year – it sounds promising.
