    Hi Charles and fellow no-diggers

I planted some Greyhound cabbage perhaps a little too late in the autumn and most didn’t heart up.

Should I leave the plants to continue over-wintering in the hope that I’ll get some decent heads in late spring. Or should I feed them to the chickens! They seem to love cabbage leaves.

Hi Asif, are you in the UK? Did you plant these out this autumn? If so, they won’t head up ’til next spring, and as small plants will hopefully survive winter. You could add some cover to help them come earlier in the spring.

    Have I missed something?!

Yes in the UK (East midlands).

As Greyhound isn’t a Savoy, I wasn’t sure whether it was worthwhile over-wintering. After reading your reply though, I’m encouraged to leave it to grow into next spring.

    Many thanks
