    Hi Charles,

Got my peas and mange tout planted out – tall sugar snap and oregon, have fleeced them

How long should i leave the fleece on? I imagine they will start growing horizontally under there. Maybe a week or two till their roots are away?

I could put up hoops, as i have done for my pea shoots , but it would involve doing hoops! Which i would prefer not to do :)

Yes they do grow a little bent and I find two or three weeks is enough. With the warmer weather coming, that will be ample, without hoops – I agree they would mean straighter stems at first but the peas soon go upright after fleece is removed.
