I knew that there would be a price to pay for having been unable to get to the allotment for 2 weeks, it was the level of damage to my PSB. I had thought they would be OK now they are so big but the pigeons have given them all a flat top hair cut. I have now put mesh over them and over the Kale which was thankfully untouched, but wondered if there is still any chance of getting a few of my favorite winter veg?

The same happened to my flower sprouts at Lower and you describe it well. as they can land on top of the large plants and peck all the top, tender leaves. Even if they have eaten the plants’ growing point right out, which sounds unlikely, PSB makes shoots from lower down and your mesh will allow them to recover, in time for spring broccoli, perhaps just a little less than otherwise.
