Hi Charles, Still snow here and very cold. Went to local garden center today and picked up dozen Asparagus crowns, Connovers and Gijnlim. I intended to plant them straight away but the helpful assistant advised waiting until the the soil warms up, whenever that might be?? What are your thoughts?

     Hi Robin,

Sorry your snow is enduring, but I would plant the crowns now as they are completely frost hardy and can then settle in as melting snow helps soil to settle around them. It may warm up suddenly in a fortnight and you will be glad to have them in, and they will be ready to grow as soon as conditions change, good luck with it
