    Hi Charles,
I was harvesting broad beans yesterday and threw away nearly 3/4 of the crop as the beans have been burrowed into by weevils. My father says it’s just extra protein but I’m not so keen on eating grub infested beans. My issue is that I have a second sowing of beans coming on (just flowering now) and I don’t know how to stop them from getting infested. Any ideas?

I know of no remedy Kevin except to crop earlier, before those grubs are so prevalent. Sow November, December or February, mesh over.
Similar strategy for peas against pea moth, crop them before the pest.
Now it’s time for French and runner beans.

Thanks Charles, I might abandon the second crop and put something else in the space.
