I know it’s probably too late in the year to do now but any advice on how to prune worcesterberry plants to make picking easier. The thorns on these are worse than gooseberries and this year I had to give up on the last of the fruit in the centre of the bush and that was after picking the rest using builders gloves and wearing a welders apron. The plants are well established and about 4 foot high and wide.

    Not too late Katia.
I can relate to your comments on the thorns after pruning gooseberries yesterday.
I would thin out the branches to give you access, you will be cutting some whole branches to do that, even with a pruning saw.

I grow my gooseberries as a fan, which makes them much less painful to pick
