Hi Charles, thank you, as ever, for sharing your experience with us. I have home made compost, green waste compost and some leaf mold. I’m just wondering should i mix them all together before I put them on my beds or put them on in layers and if in layers, in what order? Thanks, Ruth

That sounds a nice palette of compost to paint the garden.
Best spread each in turn, it’s less effort for you and less damage to organisms in the compost. The least decomposed first, final layer the finest, so probably the green waste compost on top.

Thank you Charles. I had wondered if it were worth mixing them up to build up the microbes, especially with the green waste, but happy enough not to!
