Charles, I read your comment in one of your books on the reuse of potting compost with lucerne nuts and I think I remember seaweed.

I’ve recently purchased a bag of Dengie alfalfa pellets. What sort of quantities should I be using please. Do I soak the nuts before adding or crush them with a hammer or rolling pin ? I’m concerned about mold if I mix them in wet, unless I am ready to use the compost almost immediately.

Thanks for the information. I’m really glad to be able to revitalize used compost..

Hi Suella, I just mixed them in and they kinda dissolved, I never saw mould. You can get creative, a bit of seaweed meal, wood ash, your finest homemade compost… all good.
