Hi All. We have planted our new raised beds with some soft fruit and plum trees.(Blackcurrants, strawbs and the plums) I have been advised to remove flower buds for the first year …sob! Is this a good idea – really?
ps got the Garden Diary for xmas – it is great.

Thanks Lizzy, good you like the diary.

Yes for tree fruit, it is worth removing blossom, so that your trees can put all energy into branches. You will be repaid!
Strawberries can fruit though, especially if they are everbearing. Even summer strawberries should give you some fruit, from planting in December.
