    Is there any reason why runner beans and Climbing French beans be grown in the same place each year

     They don’t have to be, mine are dotted around the garden. Otherwise they are both legumes so in terms of rotation, they are grown in the same area. Choosing a sheltered spot may be a factor.

    Remember that runner beans are tender perennials in this country. If they can be protected from the roots being frosted they will regrow. Tomatoes are the same.
