Having got over the frosted leaves, the potatoes are doing well. but we have discovered 3 of the sarpo mira main crop we think had blackleg,, we dug them and the tubers were rotten and the stem was black or going black. We will be burning the damage but does any one have any idea why this has happened and what we can do about it?
    all help appreciated.

    Hi RandA,

What condition were the Tubers in when you planted them and did you divide/split any?

    Hi Don
Tubers were good, sourced from Scotland and all we did was chit them. so far the other plants are looking OK. I would still like to know if we can do anything about the problem though.

You say the tubers were sourced from Scotland. Have you approached the supplier/retailer to see if they have had any reports of similar problems elsewhere? I have always found them very helpful.
