Is there a way I could test at home in Sept to see if the compost and manure I have access to contains aminopyralid?

I would then know where or not to use the free stuff that I have available.

My allotment has a gate in to this field, just below the conifer tree, so you can see it’s a win win for both of us if it’s good stuff.

Well done, the new leaves are healthy and all are of good colour, although more certainty comes after more growth than that.
