Shallots

    It’s a strange year for shallots. Some were ready and starting to dry out so I harvested those last week. Some still have upright fresh green leaves and probably need a few more weeks. Problem is, in this dry weather the birds are making a right old mess.

    The advice about freezing, drying or pickling shallots all seems to be very contradictory and confused too.
