Hi all! I’m just about setting up my first market garden farm! Green house is up, first field block is covered in 6 inches or more organic mushroom compost (isles about 2-3 inches), fridge is built, seeds are on the way, but I just started my soil test today, and the results are not great at the moment. My soil is sandy loam, about a 7 ph, has a surplus of nitrogen but it’s deficient in phosphorus and potash.
Would you add an organic phos/potash into each hole when planting, top dress with both or just let time and compost do the work?
I am worried that my first season will be weak and slow if I do not amend.

Still a foot of snow on the ground, but my greenhouse is quite warm during the day. I was very happy to lift the tarps and finally find huge worms doing what they do best. I will wait another 3 weeks and perform another soil test.
Has anyone had a depletion of phosphorus/potash that was remediated within the same season with compost alone?
