Hi Charles.Please can you let me know if it’s ok to only top dress the soil in containers used for bedding flowers last year or should I replace all the soil. I want to grow salad in them this year.

Best results will come from replacing it, depending a little on the vigour of last year’s flowers. Why not do a comparison between replacing and top dressing with new compost? I have tried both for salads and am not convinced either way.
